| The Tennessee Educational Theatre Association is the official state organization for the International Thespian Society and the Educational Theatre Association. The purpose of the organization is to promote and encourage the development of theatre and theatre education throughout Tennessee. Membership in the Tennesse Educational Theatre Association is automatically offered to students through their participation as members of the International Thespian Society. Adult sponsors of Tennessee Thespian troupes and individual members of the Educational Theatre Association from our state are also included as members of the Tennessee Educational Theatre Association. A state-wide Thespian conference is held annually. It includes two days of performances, workshops, scholarship auditions, and networking opportunities.
